Increasing international arrivals into Cambodia has seen its tourism sector burgeon steadily over the past five years according to a recent government report released Monday.
In its Tourism Highlights report, the government said the number of foreign visitors to Cambodia had continued increasing every year since 2004 when it received one million foreign tourists.
Last year, the country welcomed 2.161 million foreign tourist arrivals, up 1.7 percent compared to 2008's 2.125 million arrivals.
Of the arrivals, Vietnam was the largest arrivals market with 319,202 followed by South Korea (197, 725) and America (148,482).
The Angkor Wat Temple continues to be Cambodia's prime attraction and was recently recognised by UNESCO as world heritage site.
